If the pirates had been drinking absinthe, I'm sure this is what they would have used. This popular absinthe spoon features a skull and crossbones on the grill, used to hold the sugar in the preparation of a traditional French absinthe. It is one of our longest spoons, and will fit almost any glass.

A traditional absinthe is prepared by pouring a predetermined amount of absinthe into an absinthe glass, then placing the absinthe spoon on top of the glass and a sugar cube on the spoon. Ice-cold water flows slowly from a fountain, carafe or rocker onto the sugar cube. The cold sugar water then flows from the spoon into the absinthe glass, releasing oils and perfuming the air with fennel, grand wormwood and anise. The combination also begins to take on a milky white color, as the water mixes with the anise.

  • Measures 20 cm long.
  • Chrome on brass.
  • The spoon does not tarnish.
  • Dishwasher-safe.
