This is an original late 19th century absinthe label print for the Jibécé brand, made from J.B. Chamonard's distillery in Romanèche-Thorins, just north of Lyon in southwest France. The region was once famous for its absinthe distilleries. It was printed using a 4-color offset press, meaning that each color was applied separately. This printing method would have been the same as that used to produce the original labels. The colors and image are crisp and vibrant. Silver metallic ink was used in the printing process on the absinthe branches and leaves, adding to the authentic look and feel of the print. The use of metallic inks creates a rich, glossy finish and an authentic look. The photo above does not show the metallic ink.
