This high-end gift box features a bottom and lid of rigid construction. The outer box top and 2 sides feature embossed, silver foil-stamped printing, giving a rich, shiny silver finish on a matte black background. The inside of the lid features a Belle Epoque advertising reproduction, while the inside of the box base displays 19th century French craftsmanship, visible through the glasses.
These reproduction glasses are among the most interesting of all antique absinthe glasses. Although they resemble a French champagne glass, these glasses were specifically designed for use with absinthe.
The glasses are made to the same dimensions as an original cut glass, including the reservoir. The reservoir is the lower area of the glass used to measure the amount of absinthe to be added. In addition to helping a bartender know the exact amount of absinthe to pour, the reservoir also helps the customer know that this is an honest pour. The size of the reservoir generally correlates with the size of the glass used, as water/absinthe ratios vary according to the drinker (typically 3 to 5 parts water, to 1 part absinthe). The glass reservoir measures 25 ml (0.8 oz), which is standard for an absinthe glass of this size.
The gift box measures 20.6 cm x 20.6 cm x 9.5 cm.
The glasses are made of thick, heavy molded glass.
Measures 17.1 cm in diameter x 7.6 cm in height.
The glass holds 29.5 cl. liquid.
The reservoir holds approximately 50 ml.
The pre-cut die shape holds the glasses in place.
