This stainless steel pouring cup is a unique server used in the preparation of a traditional, historically correct absinthe. The cup is designed to replace an absinthe spoon.
To use, place the pourer on an absinthe glass, then place your sugar inside. Cold water is then poured slowly, either from a carafe or an absinthe fountain, into the coupe. With four small holes in the bottom of the coupe, the sugar water slowly drips into the absinthe glass and begins to louche (the process when the water then reacts with the aniseed in the absinthe and the mixture becomes cloudy or white. The air also starts to become fragrant with the smell of anise, fennel and wormwood. Add more water or sugar to taste. Remove and enjoy!
