This saucer is a B-Stock listing. These saucers are B-Stock due to imperfections. These imperfections may include: twisted / faded lines, the price is slightly off center and/or other defects. These imperfections do not affect the functionality of the saucers.

Absinthe bistro saucers served a dual purpose in the pre-ban era of absinthe. As well as serving as coasters, they also functioned to indicate the price of absinthe served. The price printed on the bottom or side of the saucer corresponded to a color painted on the outer rim. This colored rim was used to tell the waiter how much to charge the customer by reading the different saucer colors when stacked. For example, if three saucers with a dark red rim (as shown above) were stacked, the waiter would be able to charge the customer 9.45 French francs. When the bill was paid, the money was usually left inside the roller coaster.

This saucer features a hand-painted blue rim with reel lines accented in dark blue and silver. The franc mark is printed on the bottom of the saucer.
