These beautiful and unique absinthe spoons and grates are the work of artist, Kirk Burkett. Kirk has been a leader in creating one-of-a-kind pieces for the absinthe market for 20 years, and is highly regarded in the absinthe community for his unique hand-crafted pieces. Each item is designed and crafted from start to finish by Kirk in his workshop, where he has been producing sterling silver objects for over 35 years.
From the fold of the trunk of his elephant grill to the veins of each absinthe leaf grill, meticulous attention is paid to every detail. This detail is even evident in the jeweler's hallmark placed on each piece, along with Kirk's initials and the item's date of manufacture.
Kirk's love of absinthe doesn't stop with his jewelry; his main occupation (and other passion) is that of herbalist. On his Vermont farm, Kirk cultivates a variety of herbs used to supply many American distilleries with their plants for producing absinthe, including Artemisia absinthium (grand wormwood) - a key herb in absinthe distillation and the liqueur's namesake.
As well as being works of art, grills and spoons are made to be used.
